True, you will not be able to sit your camp crew around this and tuck into dinner, but it’s not designed for that. This is primarily a side table, that would most likely sit beside your camping chair as you enjoy the view.

Or for you and your partner to squat beside and enjoy a morning coffee or an evening’s wine and cheese, in my case more like a tin of spam and beer, but hey ho! Having my dog sit beside me makes up for any losses.

The largest is around 3.2lbs and the smallest model 1.8lbs, neither is particularly weighty even for a hiking table. It all folds down into a small carry bag and can be set up instantly with a push-click framework, a convenient and surprisingly sturdy, small camping table all round.

An ideal choice for a large camping table, is a folding picnic table, due to the versatility it can serve you well under any situation.

This is mostly due to the materials used in the design, it’s stain-resistant, easy to wipe down, clean and durable. UV resistant properties are infused into the material upon manufacture as an added bonus and the whole table folds down well, with the benches tucking neatly underneath the tabletop.

When all fitted together and collapsed, it’s around 30lbs in weight, give or take a few pounds. The storage system is clever and helps to reduce required storage space, probably one of the best folding picnics tables for under $100 that you’ll find on the market. Our only gripe is the lack of accessories.

Key Features:

  • Clever Stow Away System
  • Reasonably Lightweight for a Full Set
  • Easy Clean and Resistant Material
  • Perfect for Indoors and Outdoors

8. Camptime Roll a Table

Camp Time Roll a Table review

Check Prices Here

One of the more uncommon roll-up tables available on the market, that have serious convenience when it comes to setting up, similar to pop up tents.

Forget folding, this literally rolls out from the carry bag and fixes onto the poles and voila, we have a camping table. Another really nice feature is that there are no supporting sidebars or x-bars as they are sometimes called, you might be thinking why would that be good, like ever.

Well for me I’m quite a big guy, so when I sit down to a camping table, I can never sit directly under it, due to those bars blocking my knees. With this I can put my legs under freely and sit properly at the table, just small things that make life easier is what makes a product valuable.

Key Features:

  • Simplistic Roll Out Method
  • Easy Storage and Lightweight
  • No X-Bars to Block Longer Legs

9. ALPS Mountaineering Eclipse Table

ALPS Mountaineering Eclipse Table

Check Prices Here

The kind of thing we like to see in a camping table is evident here in the Eclipse table’s design. Rustic Khaki color theme, accessory and feature full with strap buckles on the side, this kind of camping gear makes me drool.

Dimensions wise it’s one of the smaller folding tables at 27 x 27 x 26 in inches for length, width and then height, large enough for 3-4 people to sit around but not under. Beneath is where you will find the meshed cup holders, which is great for cold/iced drinks fresh from the ice bucket, so water doesn’t accumulate at the bottom of the pocket.

You can also find additional storage beneath the 600D Polyester tabletop. The total weight is at 6lbs and the buckles on the side are for increasing or decreasing the tautness of the tabletop, adjusting depending on the weight being placed above.

Key Features:

  • Very Fairly Priced
  • Meshed Cup Holders and Storage Compartments
  • Adjustable Buckle Straps
  • 6lbs a Lightweight Table

10. Atepa Bamboo Folding Table

Atepa Bamboo Folding Table

The tabletop is made from legit, natural bamboo which is insanely easy to keep clean as it wipes down much smoother than density plastics.

The legs and framework consist of aluminum alloy which is the reason for the 11.5lbs weight, if it was steel it would be 2x or 3x this weight, due to the solid bamboo being heavier than high-density plastics.

An attractive table that uses natural materials is always something I like to keep my eye on.

With a modest weight capacity of 66lbs, which is indeed lower than some other similar-sized tables. However, the novelty of using real bamboo trumps this in my mind.

It all comes pre-assembled so you don’t need to mess about when it arrives, just open up the box and its ready to be unfolded and set up within a minute.

Key Features:

  • Made from Natural Bamboo
  • Pre-Assembled Design
  • Includes Anti-Slip Pads
  • Metal Safety Locks are Installed

Coleman Pack Away 4 in 1 Table

Check Prices Here

The 2nd Coleman table to make an appearance in our list, they do in fact have around 6-7 different designs on the market. However, apart from their top performing compact table, we feel the Pack Away is worth a look at simply for its unique features.

It’s the only table in the list that can transform itself into different shapes and sizes, aside from the usual height adjustment on the legs. Indeed, this table can adjust to 3 different heights, but it can also move the tabletops independently as there are 2.

You can stagger them, to make a stepped table, great for grilling. You can turn them longways, to make an elongated table to sit an extra few people or side by side for a more squared table.

Folding down to a compact size, it has a 1-year warranty with a smooth mosaic laminate on the tabletop, all priced at around $65 currently.

  • Unique Transformation Feature
  • Aesthetic Mosaic Laminate

Our 2nd Bamboo edition in the list but a much more compact option than the latter. The difference being not only the size, but this sturdy little table is stronger than it looks.

Boasting an 85lb weight capacity, it is 25lbs stronger than its even larger competitor. Not bad for a 9lb table! Same rules apply, as its bamboo, super easy to wipe down and keep clean and be careful placing heavy metal objects on the tabletop, to avoid scratching and abrasion.

The top folds down into 4 panels which can be slotted into the carry bag and transported around easily. In addition, the rubber feet are evident in the photo above, this provides a stable surface when pitched on rocky terrain, due to the additional grip.

  • Small but Strong, 85lb Weight Limit
  • Natural Bamboo
  • Rubber Feet
  • 2 Height Settings

14. Best Choice Products Folding Camping Table and Bench Set

Best Choice Products Folding Table and Bench Set

Check Prices Here

The largest camping table in our list is this folding bench set from Best Choice Products. With a whopping 300lb weight capacity, it is surely the best value camping table for large groups in our list today.

All the framework on the benches and table are made from steel, so a little heavy but offering superior strength and protection in comparison to aluminum frames. The tops are made from a heavy-duty white resin, which has numerous resistant properties. It is well protected from stains, abrasion and water penetration.

Due to the 72″ length, the 2 benches and table are carried separately in their own carry cases, so a little more difficult to carry around than the single case models. Hopefully, if you need this size table you will be in a big group anyway. All in all, a great large table for a proper sit-down dinner and barbecue at the campsite.

Key Features:

  • Massive 300lb Weight Capacity
  • Steel Framework Throughout
  • Heavy Duty White Resin Tops
  • Stain, Scratch and Water Resistant

15. Acelife Folding Picnic Table with Umbrella Hole

Acelife Folding Picnic Table with Umbrella Hole

Check Prices Here

A great bundle here with amazing value and an important feature for large groups. An umbrella hole! Finally.

If you’re sitting down with the kids, one of the most important features (and one that is consistently lacking in the competitors’ models) is an umbrella hole. The only reason I would use one without is if I already had shelter by way of a tarp, or the more stable pop up gazebos and canopies.

Shade is needed especially eating outdoors in the summertime, so it is an important feature if you don’t already have a shelter to shade you ready.

An even bigger 330lb weight capacity compared to the 300lb picnic table above, which is surprising as this utilizes aluminum as opposed to steel, yet provides a stronger surface. This is due to the reinforced aluminum and stainless-steel hinges for a premium quality framework.

At 25lbs it’s lightweight for such a large table and has a 42″ length, with a mirror finish surface which is very easy to clean and wipe down.

Key Features:

  • Reinforced Aluminum Frame and Stainless Steel Hinges
  • Umbrella Hole in the Center
  • Lightweight Framework at 25lbs Total Weight
  • Huge 330lb Weight Capacity

16. Outsunny Wooden Picnic Table

Outsunny Wooden Picnic Table

Check Prices Here

We like this wooden camping table set from Outsunny because of its beautiful wood design. Strong tabletop that is easy to maintain and water resistant, provides 110lbs of weight capacity and features a stop lock catch in the center, to stop any accidental folding.

Sturdy seating has 220lbs of weight limit and that’s per chair, the aluminum and plastic reinforcement bars might not be the prettiest feature on this table, but do they provide a practical benefit for users.

Additionally, with the umbrella hole situated in the middle of the table, it makes creating a shaded eating area much easier. So if in some cases you are without a canopy or porch on your tent, you can attach an umbrella.

Weighing at around 20lbs it’s a really good weight for such a large set and easily folds down and transforms into its own sleek carrying case, all for under $70.

Key Features:

  • Umbrella Hold for Shade
  • Lightweight at 20lbs
  • Transforms into its own Carry Case
  • Well Priced for a Picnic Table Set

Frequently Asked Questions

How to Choose a Camping Table?

With so many on the market, you need to consider firstly the purpose.

For mountaineering, hiking, trekking your key features should be focused on weight, fold size and simplicity.

For your standard camp with 1-2 people, we would like to see more features being introduced, such as stools, seats or chairs. In addition, some cup holders, preferably meshed would also be desirable.

For family camping or larger groups, the folding picnic tables or the long camping tables would do better here. In this case, we are looking primarily at weight capacity, perhaps a bench as opposed to seating and an umbrella hole in the center of the table. Extra storage compartments or meshed netting also goes a long way.

How much does a Folding Camping Table cost?

For a small camping table, best used for trekking, hiking and solo camping, they are usually under $50 for standard models. The larger ones with more features and chairs included are between $50-$100 and for the folding picnic table sets, they can be upwards of $100+.

Where can I buy a Folding Camping Table?

Your local hardware, garden and home depot stores are most likely to have some form of folding table. However, for the feature-full models, such as storage and meshed holders, this is more camping territory, so consult your local camping store for this type. The best place is probably online though, as you can compare and view numerous models simultaneously. For the larger, heavier folding bench sets you have free delivery which saves you a trip. Amazon, Walmart and eBay are all large platforms that will have all models in stock.
