Clam Quick Set Escape Screen Tent
Fast Set Up
Available in 5 different colors, this model is in the midrange between the largest and smaller versions in our review. The setup is so fast, taking between 45 and 60 seconds with no assembly required. Everything basically pops up into place and can be done by just one person.
Ventilation & Space
The mesh is one of the standout features, and it’s done so well here. It’s no-see-um, which means it’s thick and specifically made to prevent bugs from getting inside. The screened walls also allow heaps of airflow for hot days.
As a medium-sized structure, you’re getting 11 feet of space across. This makes things extra roomy for standing up, walking around, and setting up a table with chairs inside.
Weatherproof Material
The overall fabric is another standout for protection. Poly Oxford fabric is very durable, perfect for use in rougher conditions, and is water and tear proof. We appreciate this as it means you can reuse it repeatedly without worrying about it ripping easily. The entire roof is water resistant to withstand light to moderate rainfall.
This material also makes it lightweight, less than 35 lbs, so you can easily carry it around. It won’t add heaps of additional weight to your gear, and the carry bag comes with tough nylon straps for easy carrying from the car to the site. This bag is also water resistant, so no worries needed for water leaks when it’s packed away.
Structure
Despite its lightweight nature, this tent is quite resistant to winds, more so than your average canopy tent. This is because the framework is made from strong fiberglass poles which have been flex-tested. This means they are designed to remain flexible, not overly stiff, so that wind can bounce off and pass by with ease.
As well as the poles, one of the most innovative features that you’ll find in all the Clams we’re reviewing are the support hubs. You’ll find them on the walls and roof, and they enhance the strength of the overall structure. They make it durable and reliable, plus you receive stakes with steel and nylon tie-down sections to keep it in place.
Additional Protection
Using heavy-duty Velcro, there are additional fabric panels that can be attached to all the walls, except for the entrance. We love this feature as you can control how much shade you want inside and stop wind from getting in certain areas. You do need to purchase the panels separately, though.
Key Overview
- Fast installation
- Durable unique design with support hubs
- High-quality materials
- Roomy interior space
- You can regulate airflow and shade with the panels

Clam Quick Set Pavilion Screen Tent
Largest Model with Speedy Set Up
As the biggest of the 3 editions on our list, this model has a huge 12.5 feet of space across and a tall height of 94 inches. Something we’d like to note is that this is the same size as the Clam Escape XL, but we chose to review only this model as it has way more features and provides more variety. You can also choose from multiple colors, including the original brown and tan, a camouflage, a grey, and an all tan.
Even with its immense size, one person can set it up with no tools in just 60 seconds. Like all the other models, there is no assembly required, and everything just pops into shape.
Weatherproof Features
Similar to the other ones, this model is made from very tough Poly Oxford fabric. It’s water-resistant and has a thicker roof of 600D Poly Oxford. All the seams are taped, plus the corners are triple-layered. This is important as the corners are often an easy spot for leaks to come through.
No-see-um mesh is also used, which is thick and ensures bugs can’t get inside.
A 50+ UV protection rating makes sure you’re nice and shady inside, keeping things cool.
The wind panels are great additions to this tent, but you do need to buy them separately. You’re able to detach and attach them onto each wall, and the main difference between this model and the previous Quick-Set Escape is that you have a panel for the entrance. When not in use, simply roll each panel up and tie in place. We love that you can control how much sun or wind you want coming through.
Strong Framework
Flex-tested fiberglass poles are also found in this version. They are extra-large measuring 11mm in diameter. Each pole connects at an intersection with special covers, which helps to protect them and keep them strong.
This is also where the triple layering comes into play, where each corner is reinforced.
As a freestanding gazebo, the framework is sturdy enough to remain upright by itself. If you’re unsure about wind levels, simply tie it down using the stakes and guylines that are included.
Overall Structure
Support hubs are also the standout feature for this size. They are uniquely designed to further enhance the structural integrity of the whole tent. If the wind picks up, each wall and the roof are flexible and will collapse inward, like an umbrella when it gets too windy.
This is done on purpose so that the structure stays robust and won’t easily move – it prevents things from fully blowing over. Another great thing about the collapsible roof is that if it snows and it gets pushed inward, you can simply pop it out from the inside and push off all the snow.
Key Overview
- Fast 60 second set up for large size
- Heaps of interior space
- Removable panels on all sides and entrance
- High-quality framework
- Easy to regulate temperature and brightness levels
- Highly durable and flexible design

Clam Quick Set Traveler Screen Tent
Smallest Model with Rapid Set Up
Perfect for 2 to 4 campers, this is the smallest on our list. Set up is really fast as this is the most compact in the Quick Set series. The manufacturer says 45 seconds, but we think you could do it in under that time with 2 people.
Weatherproofing
Long-lasting no see um mesh is again used on this model for great protection against critters. The mesh at the front entrance can be folded back to create a larger entry and exit way, plus it’s great that you can control how much protection you need.
The zippers are heavy-duty, made thicker and more robust than regular commercial zippers.
You’ll also find they have nylon and rubber parts connected to them so you can easily zip things opened and closed, getting a firm grip.
210D Poly Oxford makes up the body fabric, with 600D thick Poly Oxford for the roof keeps you dry inside when there is light rainfall outside. These durable materials are paired with taped seams and triple layered corners for ultimate protection.
Spaciousness
Measuring 6 feet across and boasting an 82-inch height, the dome roof makes it a breeze to stand up and relax without worrying about your head touching the ceiling.
Support hubs are also on this model. Not only do they provide added stability, but when you pull them out to create a dome-like shape, you create more room inside. It makes things feel even more spacious, without adding extra weight because it’s designed so well.
Super Lightweight
Weighing just 20 pounds, this is the lightest in the series. We love that they’ve taken this into account, as when you’re traveling with fewer people, it’s ideal to have less gear that will take up room. It also makes it easier to carry around.
Key Overview
- Fast 45 second or less set up
- Lightweight for easy carrying
- Roomy inside space
- Strong structure with support hubs
- Freestanding structure
- Great weather protection with high-quality materials

Most Asked Questions – We’ve Got You Covered
Here is an overview of the most frequently asked questions gathered on the internet for all of the Quickset tent models, let’s take a look.
Note: If there are any questions you have unanswered, please drop it in the comments below and we’ll jump right on it.
Can you easily put a table inside?
Yes, it is possible to put a picnic table inside. Depending on the table size, you could fit it right through the front entrance as it’s so large. Otherwise, 2 to 4 people could lift the shelter and place it over the table.
Is it difficult to collapse and store it?
Taking it down maybe even easier than setting it up, which is extremely simple considering it is a pop-up design. It folds right down, and the provided bag is oversized, so you don’t have to spend an hour trying to push it in. It is quite tall in the bag though, so you’ll need a slightly larger space to store it.
Why is there a difference in price between the colors?
The brown model has an extra 4”-5” flap on the roof that acts as a small awning that is used in conjunction with the detachable wind panels. The second aspect of the higher price is that the brown model has a lighter tan colored roof. This allows more light to enter, making things brighter, whilst reducing heat.
Does it have to be tied down?
It is a freestanding structure, so you do not need to tie it down. We recommend always securing it down, even for light winds, to always be safe.
Since it’s water-resistant and not waterproof, does it need a rainfly?
With taped seams and a 600D thick roof, we don’t think you need an additional rainfly, unless you’re in extreme rainfall. However, we recommend using this gazebo mainly in warmer weather, as it’s not designed for extreme conditions.
Our Final Thoughts
We love that these Clam Quick Set shelter tents can be used for such a wide variety of things.
Some ordinary canopy gazebos can only be used in light weather conditions, like small rainfall and winds. These models, however, are intended for use in more intense elements, like for rough camping.
We also appreciate that you can take these with you on a camping trip. Set one up next to your normal tent, and use it as an ultimate relaxation and dining area away from bugs and rain.
With speedy set ups, an innovative structural design that’s robust, and plenty of size and colour options, these are shelters that can be used for many years to come.
