Camping Table Reviews
1. Helinox Table One
This ultralight folding table from Helinox is a perfect utility table for lightweight backpackers, hikers and campers alike. Suitable in all manner of environments, due to its ability to collapse down insanely small.
With a 1.5lb weight-bearing, it won’t burden you anywhere near as much as some of the bigger 5lb plus models out there. The weight is primarily due to the aluminum alloy framework, twinned with a polyester rip-stop tabletop, makes for a feather-light camping table.
Fitted with a few accessories also, like the meshed drinks holders which are located in the center for maximum stability. So, you can put your plates either side and sit at the table and not have the drinks imposing on you like the side positioned holders.
Slightly high-end price wise, but does come with a 5-year warranty from the company, so they have put their full faith in the durability of their product.
〉 110lb Weight Limit
〉 1.5lb Carry Weight
〉 Meshed Drink Holders
〉 Compact Fold Up
〉 Higher End Price Wise
2. Redcamp Folding Picnic Table with Chairs
If you are looking for something that’s all included, then this folding family table from Redcamp is ideal. Due to the size, it can be used for a multitude of purposes, from camping and beaches to parties. The chairs included don’t have back support, but it’s okay for a quick sit down and meal, or for the kids who are a bit more limber than the likes of us.
Adjustable height makes it super convenient for adapting to kids or adults’ size and it folds down to around 24 x 3 x 24 in inches, so is fairly compact and can be stored easily.
The materials used are decent quality, comprising of medium density fiberboard which is a solid surface and easy to keep clean. The aluminum frame offers a lightweight table, so not as tough to carry from A-B as the solid steel ones.
〉 Lightweight Aluminum Frame
〉 4 Free Chair Bundle
〉 Adjustable Height
〉 1 Year Warranty
〉 Higher End Price Wise
3. ALPS Mountaineering Camp Table
A cheap and cheerful folding table here that is surprisingly sturdy for its price, making it a great choice for a budget camping table for under $50.
Due to its robust design, its preferable for camping, tailgating and BBQ events. Given the slightly heavy 6lb weight, this does convert into more stability when opened up and can allow for greater weight to be placed on top, not only food but gear can be placed here too.
The whole structure is made from aluminum, including the tabletop and comes with a free carry bag for storage. Perfect for keeping it protected when stored in the garage or when in transit in the boot. Probably not the best choice for people who are on the move with it in hand, but a good choice for a campsite.
〉 Rustic Aesthetic
〉 Economical Price
〉 Full Aluminum Frame and Table Top
〉 Sturdy Supportive Legs
〉 On the heavier side at 6lbs for a small table
4. Lifetime Folding Camping Table
A multi utility table here that stretches to 4 foot in length and can seat up to 4 adults, perfect family-sized picnic table and probably one of the best folding tables you’ll find for under $50.
It covers the basics well and gets the job done, folding up into a briefcase style carrying design which can then be held by the carry handle. Which is just as well, weighing in at 19lbs it’s no hiking table, but a very good addition to any family camping trip.
There are 3 adjustable heights at 24, 29 and 36 inches and the tabletop is around 1 and a half inches thick, so a solid surface to eat from which is easily wiped down. All in all a sound budget camping table without all the bells and whistles.
〉 3 Adjustable Heights
〉 Cheap but Reliable
〉 Steel Frame
〉 Easy Wipe
〉 Doesn’t fold down as compact as other more feature-full tables can of the same size
5. Coleman Outdoor Compact Table
A familiar face in the camping world, Coleman have a super compact folding table here that’s made totally from aluminum. The fixed crossbars help to keep the framework steady and stable and are fixed in position with plastic brackets and steel screws.
This particular model has a 10-pound weight and a full years warranty to boot, so the product is fully protected. The lightweight is due to the accordion-style steel frame design, but with an aluminum top, to further reduce the weight.
Slots nicely into its free carry bag and is light enough for small treks, put together very well with push-click set up and fold away, a convenient and well priced square camping table.
〉 Easy Push-Click Set Up
〉 Accordion Steel Frame
〉 Aluminum Table Top
〉 It says suitable for 4, but I would say it would comfortably fit 2 more realistically
6. Trekology Portable Camping Side Table
With 3 different sizes and 2 color designs, the portable side table from Trekology offers the most variety in our list. All are designed to be as lightweight as possible and to accompany the avid hiker or trek enthusiast on the trail.
True, you will not be able to sit your camp crew around this and tuck into dinner, but it’s not designed for that. This is primarily a side table, that would most likely sit beside your camping chair as you enjoy the view. Or for you and your partner to squat beside and enjoy a morning coffee or an evening’s wine and cheese, in my case more like a tin of spam and beer, but hey ho! Having my dog sit beside me makes up for any losses.
The largest is around 3.2lbs and the smallest model 1.8lbs, neither is particularly weighty even for a hiking table. It all folds down into a small carry bag and can be set up instantly with a push-click framework, a convenient and surprisingly sturdy, small camping table all round.
〉 Rubber Feet for Stability
〉 Numerous Variations of Size/Color
〉 Heaviest is 3.2lbs only
〉 No leg/height adjustments are available so you must make sure to pitch on a good flat surface
7. Lifetime Folding Picnic Table
An ideal choice for a large camping table, is a folding picnic table, due to the versatility it can serve you well under any situation.
This is mostly due to the materials used in the design, it’s stain resistant, easy to wipe down, clean and durable. UV resistant properties are infused into the material upon manufacture as an added bonus and the whole table folds down well, with the benches tucking neatly underneath the tabletop.
When all fitted together and collapsed, it’s around 30lbs in weight, give or take a few pounds. The storage system is clever and helps to reduce required storage space, probably one of the best folding picnics tables for under $100 that you’ll find on the market. Our only gripe is the lack of accessories.
〉 Clever Stow Away System
〉 Reasonably Lightweight for a Full Set
〉 Easy Clean and Resistant Material
〉 Perfect for Indoors and Outdoors
〉 For a Large Picnic Table like this I would like to see perhaps an umbrella hole
8. Camptime Roll a Table
One of the more uncommon roll-up tables available on the market, that have serious convenience when it comes to setting up, similar to pop up tents.
Forget folding, this literally rolls out from the carry bag and fixes onto the poles and voila, we have a camping table. Another really nice feature is that there are no supporting sidebars or x-bars as they are sometimes called, you might be thinking why would that be good, like ever.
Well for me I’m quite a big guy, so when I sit down to a camping table, I can never sit directly under it, due to those bars blocking my knees. With this I can put my legs under freely and sit properly at the table, just small things that make life easier is what makes a product valuable.
〉 Simplistic Roll Out Method
〉 Easy Storage and Lightweight
〉 No X-Bars to Block Longer Legs
〉 Slightly pricey at just under $100 (99.9, subject to change) due to the minimal assembly and weight
9. ALPS Mountaineering Eclipse Table
The kind of thing we like to see in a camping table is evident here in the Eclipse table’s design. Rustic Khaki color theme, accessory and feature full with strap buckles on the side, this kind of camping gear makes me drool.
Dimensions wise it’s one of the smaller folding tables at 27 x 27 x 26 in inches for length, width and then height, large enough for 3-4 people to sit around but not under. Beneath is where you will find the meshed cup holders, which is great for cold/iced drinks fresh from the ice bucket, so water doesn’t accumulate at the bottom of the pocket.
You can also find additional storage beneath the 600D Polyester tabletop. The total weight is at 6lbs and the buckles on the side are for increasing or decreasing the tautness of the tabletop, adjusting depending on the weight being placed above.
〉 Very Fairly Priced
〉 Meshed Cup Holders and Storage Compartments
〉 Adjustable Buckle Straps
〉 6lbs a Lightweight Table
〉 Slightly pricey at just under $100 (99.9, subject to change) due to the minimal assembly and weight
10. Atepa Bamboo Folding Table
The tabletop is made from legit, natural bamboo which is insanely easy to keep clean as it wipes down much smoother than density plastics.
The legs and framework consist of aluminum alloy which is the reason for the 11.5lbs weight, if it was steel it would be 2x or 3x this weight, due to the solid bamboo being heavier than high-density plastics. An attractive table that uses natural materials is always something I like to keep my eye on, a modest weight capacity of 66lbs, which is indeed lower than some other similar sized tables. However, the novelty of using real bamboo trumps this in my mind.
It all comes pre-assembled so you don’t need to mess about when it arrives, just open up the box and its ready to be unfolded and set up within a minute.
〉 Made from Natural Bamboo
〉 Pre-Assembled Design
〉 Includes Anti-Slip Pads
〉 Metal Safety Locks are Installed
〉 Lower weight capacity than average, so probably not suitable for a proper grill or BBQ, but drinks, food and games are fine.
11. Roraima Compact Camping Table
A very robust camping table here from Roraima, a somewhat lesser known manufacturer, but this product is growing steadily on the market with positive reviews.
Many of the smaller camping tables have a capacity of only around 50-60lbs, if you need something with a bit more strength, this would be ideal. With a big weight limit of 120lbs, it can hold a steel grill with ease or crates of beer etc. Even more so due to the fireproof properties in the materials used, making it ideal for cookouts and barbecues.
A meshed storage net sits beneath and is pretty deep for table storage, a great place to store food, fruit or camping bits and bobs.
〉 120lbs Weight Capacity
〉 47″ and 60″ Length Models Available
〉 Fire and Rust Proof
〉 Lifetime Warranty
〉 Large Storage Netting
〉 The storage netting seems a bit blocked in, so not so convenient for getting things in and out of
12. Coleman Pack Away 4-in-1 Table
The 2nd Coleman table to make an appearance in our list, they do in fact have around 6-7 different designs on the market. However, apart from their top performing compact table, we feel the Pack Away is worth a look at simply for its unique features.
It’s the only table in the list that can transform itself into different shapes and sizes, aside from the usual height adjustment on the legs. Indeed, this table can adjust to 3 different heights, but it can also move the tabletops independently as there are 2. You can stagger them, to make a stepped table, great for grilling. You can turn them longways, to make an elongated table to sit an extra few people or side by side for a more squared table.
Folding down to a compact size, it has a 1-year warranty with a smooth mosaic laminate on the tabletop, all priced at around $65 currently.
〉 Unique Transformation Feature
〉 Aesthetic Mosaic Laminate
〉 Under $65
〉 1 Year Warranty
〉 3 Height Settings
〉 The tabletop is not aluminum, being a laminate you should avoid putting piping hot things on the top, like a kettle, hot cup etc.
13. Camco Bamboo Folding Table
Our 2nd Bamboo edition in the list but a much more compact option than the latter. The difference being not only the size, but this sturdy little table is stronger than it looks.
Boasting an 85lb weight capacity, it is 25lbs stronger than its even larger competitor. Not bad for a 9lb table! Same rules apply, as its bamboo, super easy to wipe down and keep clean and be careful placing heavy metal objects on the tabletop, to avoid scratching and abrasion.
The top folds down into 4 panels which can be slotted into the carry bag and transported around easily. In addition, the rubber feet are evident in the photo above, this provides a stable surface when pitched on rocky terrain, due to the additional grip.
〉 Small but Strong, 85lb Weight Limit
〉 Natural Bamboo
〉 Rubber Feet
〉 2 Height Settings
〉 Tends to wobble slightly when legs are extended, but that’s fairly common among portable tables which focus on lightweight designs
14. Best Choice Products Folding Table and Bench Set
The largest camping table in our list is this folding bench set from Best Choice Products. With a whopping 300lb weight capacity, it is surely the best value camping table for large groups in our list today.
All the framework on the benches and table are made from steel, so a little heavy but offering superior strength and protection in comparison to aluminum frames. The tops are made from a heavy-duty white resin, which has numerous resistant properties. It is well protected from stains, abrasion and water penetration.
Due to the 72″ length, the 2 benches and table are carried separately in their own carry cases, so a little more difficult to carry around than the single case models. Hopefully, if you need this size table you will be in a big group anyway. All in all, a great large table for a proper sit-down dinner and barbecue at the campsite.
〉 Massive 300lb Weight Capacity
〉 Steel Framework Throughout
〉 Heavy Duty White Resin Tops
〉 Stain, Scratch and Water Resistant
〉 A good 60+ lbs and in 3 carry cases, it’s an extra trip to and from the car, but for long camping trips or outdoor events, it’s the best
15. Acelife Folding Picnic Table with Umbrella Hole
A great bundle here with amazing value and an important feature for large groups. An umbrella hole! Finally.
If you’re sitting down with the kids, one of the most important features (and one that is consistently lacking in the competitors’ models) is an umbrella hole. The only reason I would use one without is if I already had shelter by way of a tarp, or the more stable pop up gazebos and canopies.
Shade is needed especially eating outdoors in the summertime, so it is an important feature if you don’t already have a shelter to shade you ready.
An even bigger 330lb weight capacity compared to the 300lb picnic table above, which is surprising as this utilizes aluminum as opposed to steel, yet provides a stronger surface. This is due to the reinforced aluminum and stainless-steel hinges for a premium quality framework.
At 25lbs it’s lightweight for such a large table and has a 42″ length, with a mirror finish surface which is very easy to clean and wipe down.
〉 Reinforced Aluminum Frame and Stainless Steel Hinges
〉 Umbrella Hole in the Center
〉 Lightweight Framework at 25lbs Total Weight
〉 Huge 330lb Weight Capacity
〉 Unfortunately a table umbrella does not come with the table also, so this will require an extra purchase.
16. Outsunny Wooden Picnic Table
We like this wooden picnic table set from Outsunny because of its beautiful wood design. Strong tabletop that is easy to maintain and water resistant, provides 110lbs of weight capacity and features a stop lock catch in the center, to stop any accidental folding.
Sturdy seating has 220lbs of weight limit and that’s per chair, the aluminum and plastic reinforcement bars might not be the prettiest feature on this table, but do they provide a practical benefit for users. Additionally, with the umbrella hole situated in the middle of the table, it makes creating a shaded eating area much easier. So if in some cases you are without a canopy or porch on your tent, you can attach an umbrella.
Weighing at around 20lbs it’s a really good weight for such a large set and easily folds down and transforms into its own sleek carrying case, all for under $70.
〉 Umbrella Hold for Shade
〉 Lightweight at 20lbs
〉 Transforms into its own Carry Case
〉 Well Priced for a Picnic Table Set
〉 A few things about this table: Since the weight is so low, the materials are not top quality as they are prioritizing portability over strength. Secondly, given the seat size, I would suggest this for children as opposed to 4 large adults.
How to Choose a Camping Table?
With so many on the market, you need to consider firstly the purpose.
For mountaineering, hiking, trekking your key features should be focused on weight, fold size and simplicity.
For your standard camp with 1-2 people, we would like to see more features being introduced, such as stools, seats or chairs. In addition, some cup holders, preferably meshed would also be desirable.
For family camping or larger groups, the folding picnic tables or the long camping tables would do better here. In this case, we are looking primarily at weight capacity, perhaps a bench as opposed to seating and an umbrella hole in the center of the table. Extra storage compartments or meshed netting also goes a long way.
How much does a Folding Camping Table cost?
For a small camping table, best used for trekking, hiking and solo camping, they are usually under $50 for standard models. The larger ones with more features and chairs included are between $50-$100 and for the folding picnic table sets, they can be upwards of $100+.
Where can I buy a Folding Camping Table?
Your local hardware, garden and home depot stores are most likely to have some form of folding table. However, for the feature-full models, such as storage and meshed holders, this is more camping territory, so consult your local camping store for this type. The best place is probably online though, as you can compare and view numerous models simultaneously. For the larger, heavier folding bench sets you have free delivery which saves you a trip. Amazon, Walmart and eBay are all large platforms that will have all models in stock.
So out of hundreds, close to thousands of potential camping tables, we have whittled it down to just 16 of the top-performing models on the market.
Including every different feature and function available, you should be able to find the perfect one for you out of this bunch.
