Quick pitch tents for camping are extremely popular in the outdoor community, and today we will take a look at the Gazelle pop-up tents.
Gazelle has been manufacturing a range of outdoor products since the 1960’s, and have a stellar reputation when it comes to “delivering the goods”. Renowned for their gazebo shelters that are fine tuned towards camping, as opposed the garden, they are a company to take note of when it comes to tents and shelters.
With the popularity of pop up tents, and of course their model line on the market, we wanted to do a comparison between the 3 pop up hub tents they currently offer in their T-series lineup to see how they stack up to each other, and what they can offer you. So let’s dig in.

Gazelle T4 Plus Tent – Our First Thoughts
We think the T4 Plus from Gazelle is a great 4 person tent for camping, with enough space to accommodate your entire family and friends. While it can hold up to 8 people, we feel this is overkill, as you will want to utilize the space efficiently, which is hard to do with that many people packed inside.
The fast setup is its main selling point, but it has a lot of other cool features that make it an attractive option for many campers. While Gazelle doesn’t price their tents cheap, they don’t make them that way either, and we believe you’ll not only enjoy it immensely, but also get years of use out of it.

Gazelle T4 Tent- Our First Thoughts
Designed as a cube, the Gazelle T4 pop up tent goes up quick and is an excellent choice for multi person camping. We think for the price point its available at, you will have a hard time finding a tent that can top this 3-seasoner, as it is built well and offers a lot of features to make your time outdoors as comfortable as possible.
With plenty of room for up to 4 people, you can retire in style after a long day of being outside and roasting marshmallows. While families can all fit inside, we would recommend using it more as a 2 person tent to get the most comfort out of it.

What We Love – Our Top 3 Features
GOLD QUALITY – One Minute to Shelter
While there are a lot of great features included in these 3 Gazelle tents, their quick set up is, in our opinion, the best one they possess.
Pop up tents for camping are becoming increasingly popular in the outdoor industry due to their pre-assembled convenience. Many campers only arrive at their campsite after sunset, so the pop-up nature of these shelters makes it easy to go from your car straight into your tent.
Additionally, they come in very handy when there is a downpour and you need to get your tent pitched fast. These pop-up tents come with everything ready to go right out of the case. By pushing out the frame hubs, the tent “pops up” into shape. At that point you only need to stake it down and attach the rain fly to the provided poles. So simple anyone can do it.
SILVER FEATURE – Water, Water Nowhere
Gazelle does a very good job making their tents water resistant, using a multitude of features for keeping the interior dry as a bone. The optional rain fly can be attached when it starts to rain, and is coated with a 2000mm waterproof rating (along with the shell) to bead moisture and help it roll off. The fly also produces awning support over the windows and doors for increased protection.
When it’s not raining you can leave it the fly on the shelter and roll it up for unobstructed views. A bathtub designed floor helps keep dirt and water from overflowing into the sleep space, and its coated in a similar hydrostatic head to eliminate ground water from soaking through. In addition, all the windows and doors zip shut to ensure you won’t feel Mother Nature’s wrath while inside.
BRONZE HIGHLIGHT – Only The Finest Materials
The tent fly and shell are both compromised of 210 denier oxford polyester, which gives you a lightweight yet rugged material capable of standing up to the elements. It is also breathable and provides 50+ UV protection while you are inside the tent. The floor is stepped up a notch and covered in a thicker 300D oxford poly that provides increased longevity to deal with the heavy foot traffic it sees.
While it is a durable material, using your tent with a footprint underneath is always advised. Included on the doors and windows are high-quality YKK zippers which eliminate jamming and snagging with their smooth operation. Metal hubs and fiberglass poles provide a strong and flexible frame, and Gazelle includes all guy lines and stakes with the tent for a complete package.
Main Overview – Breaking Down Every Detail
Plenty of Room to Go Around
These tents are all large enough to house multiple campers, and how many depends on which model you decide to go with. The T3 has 40 square feet of space and can sleep up to 3 campers on a single mattress, while the T4 is 40% larger at 61 square feet for up to 4 people. The T4 Plus is a mammoth 110 square feet for anywhere between 4 and 8 campers.
It is split into two separate chambers with a screen room attached to the main tent. The screen room is intended for use as a bug-free lounge area; however, many people will also use the space for storage, cooking, or a secondary sleep space. Additionally, the divider curtain between this room and the main tent can be rolled back or zipped closed for privacy.
Air Everywhere
Each of these tents has excellent ventilation, utilizing a combination of doors (with an inner mesh layer), tight-weave windows, and vents to move air efficiently around the cabin. The T3 and T4 have 2 D-shaped doors, that are located on opposite sides of the front and back of the tent.
Together with the ceiling mesh, they cross ventilate very well, and if you need more air, you can always keep the windows open. All doors and windows have zip-up flaps that can be closed for rain protection, or regulating the amount of air flow.
The T4 Plus has a large T-door front entrance screen room for an endless amount of air flow. It can also be regulated with zip-up flaps which double as rain protection, creating an impenetrable fortress against moisture.
More Than Meets the Eye
For a simple shelter, Gazelle designed them with a lot of functionality. With the rain fly attached, it can be rolled back for unobstructed window viewing, or left off completely to gaze at the stars through the mesh ceiling. The rugged and waterproof floor will see a lot of action, so Gazelle allows you to remove it (it’s attached with Velcro) for cleaning when it gets unbearably dirty.
Additionally, there are multiple pockets and storage areas inside the tents, with each of them coming with an optional ceiling gear loft for storing valuables or hanging a light. In the case of the T4 Plus, the double rooms mean you get double gear lofts. Rounding out the features is an over-sized duffel bag that make packing, transporting, and storing your tent super easy.
Most Asked Questions – We’ve Got You Covered
What are the advantages of using a pop up tent?
The almost instantaneous setup of these tents is extremely advantageous to campers. Not only does it save you assembly time (which can be problematic in even the best of outdoor conditions), but with all the pieces already connected you have less risk of misplacing or breaking them.
How many adults can sleep in a pop up tent?
This depends on the square footage. For the T3 and T4 tents, they are geared to sleep 3-4 people, but a more comfortable amount would be a maximum of 2. For the T4 Plus, Gazelle designed it for anywhere from 4-8, but we wouldn’t recommend any more than 5 people if you want to move around comfortably.
Do these tents have 1 or 2 doors?
Both the T3 and T4 have two opposite-end D-shaped doors, while the T4 Plus has a large T door on the front, and a D-shaped door on the back of it.
Is there a hook I can hang a light or lantern from?
Yes, there is both a mesh gear loft and hook in the middle of the tent ceiling that you can hang a light from, or just place on the loft to illuminate the interior at night.
Is the carrying bag waterproof so we can attach it to a roof rack and drive through rain without the tent getting wet?
Yes, the carrying case is outfitted in the same 2000mm waterproofing that the tent has.
Conclusion on Gazelle Pop Up Tents
The Gazelle pop up tents are made to provide exceptional comfort and reliability. With their T3, T4, and T4 Plus models, you have a range of choice that can suit anyone from solo campers, couples, families, and large groups.
These tents are crafted with high-quality materials, use top of the line waterproofing features, and provide a lot of functionality in an easy to pitch package. For the price point, they are some of the best tents currently available, and we would not hesitate to recommend them.
