Our First Thoughts

We can see from first impressions that this is obviously a very typical style cabin. It has extremely vertical walls and a tall roof making it super comfortable to sleep and walk around in. When it starts raining outside, we can see it making the perfect comfy shelter to hide out, play games, and relax inside without having to crouch your neck or kneel.

Since it’s a completely freestanding tent, we like that you can pitch it on effectively any type of terrain, even in your own backyard if you like.

You definitely can’t be taking this in anything more than mild weather, but for ultimate summer camping, this is an obvious go-to. Also, the ability to make two 10ft x 7ft rooms with the middle divider is a huge advantage.

The price is a little higher than some other budget-friendly ones we’ve seen in the same capacity range, but it’s still fair when you think about the immense space and great materials you’re getting.

GOLD QUALITY – Lighting System

The interior lighting adds so much more when you compare this to some other tents. While you might think you would just use your own lantern, trust us when we say those can get a little frustrating.

Aesthetic Lighting Design Lights up the Sleeping Area

Sometimes they don’t hang properly, they run out of power easily, and they don’t give off a lot of light. Especially in such a large tent, we think this is such an awesome feature that adds great value. Since it’s connected to the fan too, it’s like you’re getting a two in one.

SILVER FEATURE – Fan

Attached to the light, the fan will help distribute a lot of air throughout the inside of this tent. with more people living inside, you need that added ventilation. Even with the full mesh roof, things may get a little stuffy when you have the fly on, and all the windows zipped up. There is no ground venting system, so you need this fan to create airflow.

BRONZE HIGHLIGHT– Rooms

You can make 2 large rooms in this model. Using the provided divider curtain, you can customize your space and make these rooms to suit your camping style. Having the curtain will provide heaps of privacy if you want to get changed or sleep in peace. If you’re camping with 3 people, you could use one side for the bedroom with sleeping bags, and the other as the living and storage area. The possibilities are endless.

Cool Features

Let’s get into the nitty gritty details about this lighting system and fan attachment. They are both connected to each other, just like a normal sized fan and light that you’d find in a home. The whole system runs on 4D batteries or one CPX 6 cartridge. The light provides an incredible 195 hour run time, and this is when it is set to high 75 lumens.

Easy Fit Lighting Attachment Lights up the Interior

The fan has a 26-hour run time, also on the highest setting, or 34 hours on the lowest. When you’re using the globe and fan at the same time, 75 lumens give a 20-hour run and a 27-hour run on low.

In terms of the fan, you have two different speeds and two directions, which basically means that the air will flow either up or down. The wall switch is super cool and makes it truly feel like you’re at home. It’s illuminated and a bright red color so that you can easily see where it is at night.

Ventilation

With the 6 oversized windows and huge full mesh roof, there is plenty of cross airflow coming through. Paired with the fan, there is a large amount of ventilation that you’ll love in warmer months. It would be nice if there were ground vents to suck in cool air, but since there is the fan, we don’t see this as a problem.

Double Rooms & Space

Using the durable nylon divider, you can make two vast rooms to enjoy some private space. The divider is attached using 3 tabs that connect on each wall and 4 tabs on the ceiling. Unlike some other cabin models, you don’t feel squished in when you create these separate rooms.

Ample Space for Multiple Camping Pads and Mattresses

In relation to the space, it’s giant. With the completely straight walls, you can easily set up bunk beds without hitting the roof. Cots, queen sized airbeds, and sleeping bags or pads will all comfortably fit in here. To have extra space left for other storage, ensure you’re camping with 4 or 5 people.

Weather Protection

Since this is a cabin style, it is fair to say that this won’t hold up in anything more than moderate winds. We don’t recommend using it in heavy winds, however if you stake it down properly it may last for a little while. If winds do hit you, the vertical wall poles are made from strong powder-coated steel, and the roof has 6 fibreglass poles for stability.

With nylon fabric, we think that the waterproof rating would be no more than 600mm, which is something you’d expect from summer tents like this one. With the patented WeatherTec System by Coleman, you have good protection from mild conditions.

All the seams are inverted, protecting the stitching needle holes from leaks. The zippers have cuffs on them for added protection, and the flooring is bathtub style with welded corners.

Most Asked Questions – We’ve Got You Covered

Does it come with the fly?

Yes, this model comes with a durable rainfly that is detachable. It doesn’t cover a lot, but that is why this is ideally used in warmer conditions.

How many people are needed to set it up?

We suggest that you have at least one other person helping you to pitch this giant, as it will be much easier and faster with 2 people. You could do it on your own, but it would take about 45 minutes to even an hour if you haven’t practiced beforehand.

Our Final Thoughts

Casual camping at its finest, the Coleman Prairie Breeze Cabin Tent with a capacity of 9 people is perfect for summertime trips. This is a reliable and durable midrange luxury tent that is packed with features.

With the LED globe and fan, you can control the temperature inside and make things more comfortable for everyone. The massive room you get from the vertical walls and huge floor area lets you customize your space to your liking. At this fair price, you can use this for years to come.
